A brief trip down memory lane – a list of all the cars and trucks I have owned since just before I started driving in 1994. This is current as of May 2020. Listed in chronological order, this list is filled with a weird mixture of pride, shame and random selections – just like my college transcripts. The lofty goal is to create a 25 part series, where each car gets its own post.
The engineering side of me couldn’t help but break the data out by manufacture and color to see if any obvious patterns or purchasing biases emerged. I haven’t calculated average length of ownership yet, but I’d suspect it’s around 2 years or so. I’d encourage everyone to go through this exercise at some point – it’s a fun drive down nostalgia lane. My brother and I were comparing notes not long ago and he has me beat with 31 cars. When we were kids, our mom barred us from trading or selling things to each another for fear of remorse or hurt feelings. Six of the cars on this list were owned by both of us at one time or another. Sorry mom.

Of these 25 vehicles, 6 were bought/sold/traded between my brother and I. 24 of the 25 ran well and were road legal while I had it (The 1978 C10 never moved without a tow truck). The shortest tenure of ownership was 3 weeks (Dodge Charger), the longest was 5 years (Dodge Dakota Sport).
